Died Tuesday, September 10, at his home in Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband of 39 years, to Ellen Johnston Gilreath; father of Kathryn Gilreath and Margret Ann Reckleben; grandfather of Alexander Reckleben; brother of David Gilreath, and Billie Asbury, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was born in Smithville, TN. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1956 with a B.S. in English and the University of Tennessee in 1972 with an M.S in Planning. He served with the 280th ASA Company in Berlin as a German linguist. He began his career as a publications assistant with the American Geophysical Union, and later became a member of the editorial staff of the Library of Congress. He retired from the National Capital Planning Commission in 2002 after 30 years of service. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Alban’s Parish, 3001 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Alice M. Plunkett; father of Kathleen M. Plunkett (Robert Fruit), W. Craig Plunkett (Denise), Sharon E. Plunkett-Wuerger (Gregory Wuerger), Theresa A. Payne (Michael) and Cynthia C. Plunkett (Craig Sterkx); grandfather of Jason, Erin and Rachel Plunkett; brother of Charles W. Plunkett, Jr. (Carmela) and Patricia Colicchio. Bill was an active member of the Church of the Resurrection, where he headed the capital campaign to raise money for the church building. He was also a long time member of the Knights of Columbus. When he retired, he was the President of the Werres Corporation, where he had worked for 37 years. Bill was an avid Washington Redskins fan and golfer. Throughout his life, Bill brought wonderful music into the lives of his family and friends through his trumpet playing in his own band, as part of the Redskins marching band and at church. On Thursday, September 19, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Murrell Persick was born in Elizabethton, TN, toTrula Lowe Berry and Daniel James Berry. She married the late Francis A. Persick of Omaha, NE. She is survived by her children, Theresa Persick Arnold and husband, Bernd M.W. Arnold of Fairfax City, VA, and Kenneth A. Persick and wife Rose Eva Persick of Silver Spring, MD and Rockville, MD respectively. Mrs. Persick was the devoted and loving grandmother to Francesca Rose Persick. Mrs. Persick was predeceased by a brother, Albert M. Berry and two sisters and their husbands, Pearl (Lester “LH”) Dick, and Irene (Luke) Tucker; three sisters-in-law, Kathryn Persick Haas; Martha Persick Kinsley and Roberta Persick; brother-in-law Kyle “OK” Davis; and nephew Jeff Berry. She is also survived by four sisters, Minnie Kate Berry; A. Kaye Berry; Edna Berry Eitel (William W. Jr.), Linda Berry Davis; sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Berry, brother-in-law William T. Persick; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Persick ended a distinguished Federal civilian service career of 35 years as a paralegal with the US Maritime Administration where she retired in 1987.
